In addition to the Open Science and Open Access coordinators, Prof. Dr. Frank Fischer and Dr. Dennis Mischke, representatives from all 15 departments of the university participated in the event.

The program showcased a wide variety of examples of open research practices, ranging from citizen science in Berlin’s allotment gardens to the challenges and opportunities of the open science concept in the humanities. Methods, tools, and perspectives on open science were presented and discussed in four sessions and a poster exhibition.

The event provided ample opportunity for discussion and marked the launch of the revitalized Open Science Working Group. Members of Freie Universität Berlin who would like to stay informed are welcome to sign up for our mailing list.
