Lize Spit awarded Samuel Fischer Visiting Professorship in Literature

The Samuel Fischer Visiting Professorship invites a writer to teach for one semester at the Peter Szondi Institute for General and Comparative Literature at Freie Universität Berlin. Known as a leading figure in recent Belgian contemporary literature, Lize Spit will take on the 54th visiting professorship this summer semester. Her seminar, “Tell, Don’t Show?! Literature in the Audiovisual Era,” will focus on literature and film adaptations. The inaugural lecture, titled “The Magician and the Surgeon: Plot as a Form of Spatial Awareness,” is open to the public and will take place on April 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Seminarzentrum (Room L 116).
