For admittance to the master’s program applicants need to fulfill the following admission requirements:

  • An above average degree on par with a Bachelor in History, Regional Studies, or a related field that includes equivalent historical or regional topics (minimum of 35 credits), which can be proven with a transcript of records. In all cases, at least 35 credits must be accredited from historical or regional courses.
  • The MA Global History is an English-language program. Therefore, all applicants to the program must prove that they have English skills at a C1 (CEFR) level or higher.

For more information, please see the admissions regulations.

Students do not pay any tuition fees, the university only charges semester fees and contributions each semester.

The MA in Global History deals with the history of global interconnections and developments. The program is based on cooperation between the discipline of history and area studies. Instead of simply conveying a macro-perspective on global change, students are encouraged to acquire in-depth knowledge about the cultural and social history of a single region, which they will learn to situate – through comparisons, and through a focus on interactions and exchange – in the context of global structures and transformations.
