The Erasmus+ program offers the possibility to combine short-term internships abroad with virtual phases from home if a long-term internship abroad is not feasible. An Erasmus+ mobility grant can be awarded only for the period spent abroad. A short-term stay abroad lasts a minimum of five and a maximum of 30 days. There are no time requirements for the virtual component. During the virtual component trainees work on internship content in addition to the in-person internship component.

Erasmus+ grants will continue to be used mainly to fund long-term mobilities of two to twelve months. In justified individual cases, funding for a blended mobility internship can be applied for. The reasons why long-term mobility is not an option must be clearly explained. Possible reasons include, for example:

  • Health: chronic illnesses, degree of disability of at least 20%,
