The University Library of Freie Universität Berlin operates and maintains the image database fylr (formerly easyDB) in collaboration with the Department of History and Cultural Studies.

fylr is the central image database for the art history departments (Europe/America, East Asia, Africa) as well as the archaeological disciplines. It manages several image archives that have grown over time, including the Slide Library, the Noack/Gretenkord Image Archive, and the Adalbert Gail Image Archive.

Since 2004, the digital image collections have been continuously expanded for research and teaching purposes. Together with the affiliated easyDB/fylr partner institutions, the total collection now comprises approximately 1.2 million image files.
