My Library Account in Primo

  • Students and staff can log in to the Primo library portal using their FU-account.
You can change your password, residential address, and set up forwarding to your preferred email addresses yourself in the My.FU-Portal.

  • Library staff, external users, and Charité affiliates should enter their library card number and their date of birth in the format DDMMYY + the first letter of their first name + ! as their initial password.
For example: Kim Doe, born on 05 December 1976
    Library card number: 1380E1401602
    Password: 051276D!

Passwords are case-sensitive.

Students and staff can change the password for their FU account in the My.FU-Portal; all other library users can change their password in the Primo account area.

The password must be at least 8 characters long and include letters, numbers, or special characters. It must not be identical to your ID number.

PIN

Some University Library locations, such as the Campus Library, also use self-checkout machines for borrowing. You need a PIN to use these machines.

The PIN is preset with the ZIP code of your address and can be changed in your Primo account.

Students and staff receive email notifications at their FU email address. You can set up forwarding to other email addresses in the My.FU-Portal.

If you belong to a different user group, please contact one of the circulation desks at our locations.

If your library card has expired, you will no longer be able to log in.

Please contact a library on campus.

Report the loss of your library card directly to the circulation desk at your library. If necessary, we will block your account and issue a new library card. You should block your Campuscard in the my.FU portal. To have a new Campuscard issued, please contact the Student Service Center.

Students and staff should contact FUB-IT if they have problems with their password.

Please contact one of the circulation desks at our locations if you belong to a different user group.

Your library account may be temporarily blocked for various reasons. The most common reasons are:

  • Outstanding fees of €10 or more
If your outstanding fees total €10 or more, your account will be blocked.
  • Outstanding fees that have exceeded their due date
Even amounts under €10 may result in an account suspension if they remain unpaid for more than 3 months.
  • Overdue items
If borrowed items have reached the third reminder stage, the account will also be suspended.

If you have any questions, please contact the circulation desk at your library location.
