Guided Campus Tour at Freie Universität

On the third day of our conference, we will take you on a one-hour walking tour of the highlights around Freie Universität campus, so you can experience the best that we have to offer.

You can choose from the following options:

  • The "Campus Tour" provides an overview of the Dahlem campus and delves into the founding and turbulent history of FU Berlin.
  • The “SupraFAB Tour” allows you to explore the Supramolecular Functional Architectures at Biointerfaces (SupraFAB) research facility that specialises in fundamental research into the properties and functional mechanisms of supramolecular structures at (bio)interfaces.
  • The "FUHub & FUBIC Tour" showcases the business and innovation center, an innovative development in Berlin's Dahlem district. The center provides up to 6,800 square meters of office and laboratory space. The building's sustainability is underscored by its modern energy and air conditioning concepts.
  • The "Botanic Garden Tour" takes you to the "green jewel" of Dahlem, which beckons like an oasis from southwest Berlin. Along with the Botanical Museum, it is one of the world's largest and most important botanical gardens and has a 300-year tradition.
  • The "Biodiversity Building Dahlem Tour" allows you to explore the pentagon-shaped building, which embodies sustainability in both scientific and architectural aspects. It is one of the first research buildings in Germany to meet the Gold Standard under the Sustainable Building Rating System for Federal Buildings, the highest quality level.
  • The "Climate Forest Tour" takes you to the long-term research and teaching project area of Freie Universität Berlin in the Grunewald district. At this site, researchers are studying the ability of over 1,600 European beech trees from across Europe to adapt to climate change, particularly drought and late frosts.

The tours are also a great chance to meet the other people taking part at the conference!

More detailed information about the tours will follow.
