• Una Europa Starter Fund: Funds for the development of cooperation projects with partners in the university alliance Una Europa
• Joint Seed Funding with Hebrew University of Jerusalem: Support of new cooperative projects on the basis of matching funds.
• University of Zurich UZH Global Strategy and Partnerships Funding Scheme: The funding scheme is open to joint collaboration initiatives with specific partner universities of the University of Zurich including Freie Universität Berlin

Funding initiatives of the Berlin University Alliance 

• FAPESP (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo): Seed funding for joint projects of researchers from the BUA and institutions in the federal state of São Paulo
• Flexible Travel Funds des Berlin Center for Global Engagement: Support of collaborative research projects between BUA researchers and their partners in the Global South

• Support for cooperation between Berlin and Chicago: closer cooperation, foster new research partnerships, and lay the groundwork for larger collaborative research ventures
