Freie Universität Berlin’s Extended Academic Senate has elected Andrea Güttner to the office of chancellor. Her new term of office is set to begin on July 1, 2026. The election was initiated by the university president’s suggestion of a candidate with the approval of the board of trustees. Güttner won the election unanimously with fifty-five out of fifty-five votes cast.
